Bryce Summary Family Fund

On Thursday, May 12, 2022 our friend, co-worker, brother, son, husband and father, Bryce Summary, was in Chicago, IL for a conference and was walking on the sidewalk on Michigan Ave. (Aka “Magnificent Mile”) with his wife Amy when he was struck and briefly pinned by a vehicle that was fleeing the police. Thankfully, his wife, Amy, was not hit by the vehicle because Bryce was able to push her out of the way.

Bryce has had over a dozen surgeries since the accident and unfortunately due to those injuries he has suffered amputations of both his legs below the knee.

Seeing firsthand what Bryce is going through led us to establish this organization. The medical costs, rehabilitation costs, and the home and vehicle adaptations incurred after such life-altering medical procedures can be staggering. Those expenses shouldn’t be left for the families to bear on their own.

The Summary Mobility Fund has obtained our 501(c)(3) status and we have been able to help more families like Bryce’s who have been impacted by limb loss and the many factors associated with recovery and rehabilitation. The Summary Mobility Fund has also made donations to Carson Hall, a 21-year-old union Gas Worker that was struck by an SUV who was fleeing police and lost his left leg, Janae Edmondson, a 17-year-old volleyball player that was stuck by a car in late February and lost both her legs (she is heading home back to Nashville as of 2 days ago!), and the Amputee Coalition that helps empower people affected by limb loss to achieve their full potential through education, support, and advocacy.
